Once again, I make my return to blogging. To be honest, I don’t think I did much here previously, so I’m basically starting new. So I’ll (re)introduce myself and the hectic world I’m living in and we’ll go from there!
I’m MamaBird, a 30-something (seriously I don’t even know, ask my husband) year old; wife to the most supportive and patient husband ever, mom to twin toddlers and a very large and afraid dog, and part time crafter and baker. We recently moved from Pennsylvania to South Carolina for my husband’s job and we all could not be happier! Except my hangry son who is having a meltdown because his sister stole the safety glasses he was playing with. Pause while I put on Blue’s Clues and You. I keep our real names and faces off the internet as privacy and respect for my family.
My husband is my best friend and biggest supporter. We’re weird because neither one of us really have other friends, and we’re fine hanging out at home basically all of the time. It doesn’t take much to entertain us or keep us happy. Our twins are currently 18 months and a hot mess. They’re always falling, fighting, and trying to talk, sometimes all at the same time. There’s never a dull moment and I’m here to share stories and show some realism. Here’s one for ya: my daughter pooped on the carpeted floor FOUR TIMES last night while I was getting her brother dressed after bath. Greattttt. At the beginning, the name of our game was jokingly survival, but now we have accepted that if everyone is alive at the end of the day, it is a success. Our dog is a literal big baby. She’s half german shepherd, half golden retriever, and at her last vet visit, she weighed 135 pounds. However, she has crazy anxiety and if she gets too excited or scared, she pees.
A few years ago, on my thirtieth birthday, I was diagnosed with PCOS. Looking back, it should have been caught many many years before that, but everyone chose to overlook my symptoms. Since then, I’ve been working to get my hormones and symptoms sorted out, which is always fun. Currently, I’m working with an endocrinologist to pinpoint the issue with my thyroid. At the moment, nobody really knows what’s going on and isn’t willing to start treatment yet. I do have a biopsy scheduled next week, so wish me luck!
I guess that’s really it for an intro. I just wanted to say something just to get back on the horse and create a new outlet for myself. As if I didn’t already have enough going on! This is basically going to be a bunch of rambling, so major props to you if you stick around! I’d love to know if you made it this far, so feel free to please leave a comment saying hi! I promise it’ll make my day! Keep smiling yall!
